Associate Professor of Immunology and Molecular Medicine, University of São Paulo São Paulo, SP, Brazil. Received his medical degree in 1981 from University of São Paulo School of Medicine, completed his specialization in Cellular Immunology at the Max-Planck Institute for Immunology, Tübingen, Germany, and received his Ph.D. in Immunology from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo, Brazil. Since then, Dr. Barbuto has held positions as Visiting Scientist at the Arizona Cancer Center, USA, and as Scientific Consultant at the Department of Clinical Pathology, A.C. Camargo Cancer Center, São Paulo, Brazil, and at the Laboratory of Surgical and Molecular Pathology, Hospital Sírio-Libanês, São Paulo, Brazil. Currently, Dr. Barbuto is Associate Professor in the Department of Immunology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and at the Division of Molecular Medicine, Department of Medicine at University of São Paulo School of Medicine. He is also a member of the Nucleus for Cellular and Molecular Studies and Therapy (NETCEM) of the University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil.
