Dr. Morgan Nestingen recently joined MD Anderson as the new Executive Director of their Navigation Program. She is a nationally recognized expert in oncology navigation, a published author, and active leader within the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators. Dr. Nestingen began her nursing career as an inpatient oncology nurse 15 years ago. Since then, she has launched and led multiple navigation teams, participated in national navigation research and quality initiatives, served as an expert panelist to redesign navigator certification exams, and obtained her Clinical Nurse Specialist degree and her PhD from the University of Colorado after completing her dissertation examining nurse navigators' role in promoting guideline adherence and timely return to cancer care following COVID-19 quarantine. She is passionate about leveraging navigation to improve the experience of patients and families impacted by cancer throughout the world.
