LAPAROSCOPIC OFF CLAMPING RIGHT PARTIAL NEPHRECTOMY: VIDEO PRESENTATION
This is a case of a 50 year old Male, with right 6 cm antero-superior renal mass, assymptomatic, with no other comorbidities. Preoperative planning was done using CT scan and reconstruction with DocDo®. A laparoscopic approach of the mass was chosen.
Surgery went well, with 2 hours total surgical time, with minimum blood loss, estimated at 60ml. Patient was discharged at first post operative day.
Pathological analysis resulted in pT1bN0Mx Renal Cell Carcinoma, with Cromophobe differentiation, Fuhrman grade II with negative margins.
Conclusion: We concluded that laparoscopic approach to renal masses is feasible, and in experienced hands even major masses can be handled safely. Preoperative reconstruction and planning was fundamental in this case, as the mass could be ressected without vascular clamping preventing additional loss of renal function.
